Material experimentation, 2020- Ongoing

Biomaterials samples, algae bipolymers, natural fibers, organic dye, variable size.

This project explores biodegradable materials through experimental processes using algae-based biopolymers, natural fibers, and organic pigments. Algae revealed promising material properties—lightweight, flexible, durable, and thermo-reversible—while also inspiring the project conceptually due to its resilience and regenerative nature.
By combining biopolymers with organic colors and embedding natural fibers, I created composite materials with varied textures and structural integrity. These were further developed through manual techniques such as thread constructions and extrusion, forming net-like patterns that reflect organic growth and connectivity.
